How inconsistent is Energy Release
- Assume the Biomass has a calorific value of 5000 Kcal / Kg
- The matter of importance is not the content but how is it available in the system
- With inconsistent carbon supply to combustion the heat generation can vary as thus
- 5000 = 200 + 300 + 500 + 1000 + 800 + 400 + 300 … etc
- The total energy released is in bits and pieces which accumulates to 5000 Kcal / Kg and not released in one stroke
- The difference is due to inconsistent availability of carbon to combustion
Heat Distribution 1
- In boilers, Air is used as source for combustion as well as distribution media
- Air is a poor conductor of heat
- We use this Air as a heat distribution media
- With solid carbon fuels we are working in combination of inconsistent carbon / heat source and a poor heat conductor
- Both above factors reduce heat consistency availability at the tubes and hence absorption ratios keep varying
Heat Absorption
- With the kind of heat which is inconsistently produced, inconsistently transferred you automatically derive inconsistent absorption
- The steam quality inconsistency is proof of these variations
- So our boilers are efficient as they are today in these most variable conditions
Normal Thermodynamic Equilibrium in our Boilers
- With inconsistent fuel properties, inconsistent distribution properties of air, inconsistent absorption at tubes
- We derive an inconsistent thermal system
- The boiler Thermodynamic equilibrium is dynamic, inconsistent and unstable
- Hence our boilers show a low degree of transfer efficiency and absorption efficiency due to variations in heat generation
